Well here it is my entry for the monthly challenge!
It was challenge about creativity and in the end I decided that I wanted to use this in my bedroom hence the choice of color scheme. I used die cuts with a view Linen Closet stack patterned paper and cardstock. I also used the Opposites Attract, George, and Lovely Floral cartridges to cut out the titles and hearts. I also added embellishements of pearls, chipboard and acetate hearts. It's a little piece of me so I really was pleased by it and it's simplicity.

My Christmas class binder cover
For the Cut the Crazy Out of Christmas class I am taking from Big Picture Classes, we had to decorate our binder for our first assignment. We were asked to put a picture on it that reminded me of the holidays and hopefully featured ribbon.
Here is mine:
My cover features a digital paper pattern with the Christmas Planner written with a Lettering Delights font. I added my picture of my pretty kitty and a couple of stickers featuring stock pics from the season. I then added some ribbon to highlight the actual title of the class which I cut out and pasted onto strips. Lastly I added a couple of little flowers for added color. (The colors are a little washed out in the pic) So far I am really enjoying this class, even though I am behind this week!

Halloween Lantern
Cute Halloween idea and simple! I love scrapnfonts and letteringdelights. If you don't know about them please check them out as they have tons of great products. They specialize in fonts to purchase and download but they can be used as much more than just journaling. They have alot of doodlebat designs which means you press the A button but will wind up with a picture that you can print out and do various things with.
For Halloween they made this:

Autumn Pies Recipe Card
So I am part of the Cricut Circle and every week we have a design challenge and I finally decided to do one. This week was to use 4 basic colors of tan, burgundy, orange and grey and texture in your project. I decided to do a recipe card design.
I also decided to challenge myself and use up some scraps I had instead of all new paper. I only used 1 sheet of new burgundy paper for the main part. I embossed the leaves and tanned bottom border, put grey paper through a crimper for my pie plates and used glitter paper for the titles. I used Wild cards cart for the leaves and Autumn Title and the George cart for the Pie title. I added some hole punch leftovers to my red pie for added texture and put a little glaze on it to give it a gooey look. I inked the edges of the leaves (the orange leaves are debossed while the burgundy leaves are embossed) and drew in steam lines with a white souffle pen. Lastly I added a red glossy sticker dot to add 1 more bit of texture and rounded the corners.

My 1st crop
Well I did it. I have been wanting to go to a crop for a very long time due to my not having any friends who enjoy scrapbooking the way I do. I went yesterday to the Among Friendz crop at the Clubhouse and stayed for 6 hours. I had a really good time and want to go to another one now.
While there I even took a class (a Disney Nightmare Before Christmas layout).
There was not a large crowd but since it was my first time I think that was probably better. Kelly McCracken the owner was very nice and even knew my name as soon as I walked in. I wound up buying 2 other page kits she was selling. I even had time to put together 1 of them while I was there.

Their next crop won't be until November 6th but I'll be at the Expo then and I'm not sure if they are having a December one. I am now thinking of going to the crop during the Expo. Hmm? Before I left I took a bunch of pictures to commemorate my visit. Kelly was nice enough to get a pic of me while I was cropping to add to my collection.
I finished 10 pages while there which is the most I've ever done in 1 day! Thanks for all the tips and good luck advice from my CC sisters.

Get the Crazy Out of Christmas class
So I just discovered this online classroom where you take classes and can interact with the teacher. I am going to sign up for this class today. It's about planning for Christmas.
www.bigpictureclasses.com/crazychristmas.php use this next link to sign up and we both get $10 off our next class! http://www.bigpictureclasses.com/register.php?refer=EA6F4D36 or this code EA6F4D36
From website:
The Cut the Crazy out of Christmas workshop packs four weeks with holiday tips and ideas galore! You will download pages to print your own Christmas planner, plus you will make two layouts and a mini album for gift giving.
Doesn't that sound great? Signups close on the 20th and the class cost $25 which is a little more than I wanted to spend but is around the norm I think. You have to register but it's fairly painless. The website has prices from FREE to about $60 and has a wide variety of topics. This class is what they call a workshop which is more interactive but they also have learn on demand classes so you can do them more on your own pace and schedule. Check it out and I'll share when I'm done how I liked it.

I forget alot so I made this!
Hi all well I've decided to post one of my projects I made. It was a simple thing that I did in 1 day and I hope you like it!
I found that there were so many web sites and clubs I had joined that I couldn't remember all of the passwords and user names. There were some web sites that required your email as your user name, or you had to have a number in your password or it had to be 8 characters long, etc. etc. There had to be an easy way to remember everything and then I saw a password log for sale at some big store but for $15! Inside was pretty simple so I thought I'll just write down everything in a notebook...that lasted a couple of months until I decided I could at least make something a little cuter.
Here it is:
Here is where all the Info goes.
Good luck!

It features a Die Cuts With a View paper that I really loved (It's covered in butterflies and gold dots) and thought it was a different color combo than I'm used to. I just added the title of "WWW:" from my cricut and a couple of fabric flowers held down with an antiqued brass colored brad. I also featured a pearlescent shade of green under the title and added a blue fringe detail on the bottom for fun.
Now here is the even better part. If you like this or maybe you just like anything free (totally me) then I will be giving it away to someone as a prize for reading this blog.
How to enter:
Just leave a comment by 11pm October 16 and I'll draw a name and mail it out onto you. To sweeten the pot I'll even add a cute little acrylic stamp set to get you started on your xmas card making. It measures approx. 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"
Good luck!

One of my most fav stamps I've discovered
This stamp set is from The Stamps of Life which I am a member of. Last month they released a set that was a perpetual calendar, such a great idea. What does that mean? Check out the video.

My trip to Santa Clara Scrapbook Expo 2010
So back in August I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Santa Clara, CA. It was my first convention and I loved it, so much so that I am now going to the Sacramento Expo too. I took 1 class to see how they worked but it was only a lecture style class so I didn't make anything.
I thought it was about time to share a couple of pics!
Here is check in:
Rows and rows of glittery flowers/butterflies in all sizes!
Queen & Co's booth with all their felt borders, brads and buttons for $1 each pkg!
This is the Melissa Frances booth area. I don't want to show too much because I forgot to ask permission but it was beautiful! It featured her lovely light shades, chandeliers and tons of ideas. To top it off her cashier was perched on top of a soft throw instead of just a plain old table.

This is the class I took from Boxer scrapbooks. I really liked it and highly recommend taking it because the teacher was really funny and she gave us TONS of products. I paid $30 for the class but I got about $60 worth of items.

Run Don't Walk
For those who saw Oprah today you know that she had on Martha Stewart and at the end of the show she announced that you can go to Oprah.com and download a coupon for 50% off a Martha Stewart craft item from Michael's! The coupon will only be good for 1 day to download but you can redeem it till October 16. I think you can even print off multiples and go back everyday...but then again I'd feel guilty like I was hogging all the glory. I'm so getting her circle cutter. What about you?
1st Post
Welcome to this great experiment of mine to join in the crowd yet resist Facebook. My fellow crafters understand the need to find what's next in the world of crafting and find the best deals. I hope to share some fun that I have found from others and personally created. I am no expert and by no means a perfectionist (I rarely even use a ruler when crafting) but hope that you enjoy this blog.
Lastly I hope that this serves as a way to meet new people around the country or maybe even the world (Gasp!). I believe that crafting is a way that the world can connect and grow, just as important as math and science. Happy crafting and please come again!
